Hair-Friendly Ingredients
Uses greens traditionally associated with hair care diets.
Curry Leaf Idli Podi concentrates the deep herbal fragrance of karuveppilai (curry leaves) into a breakfast powder — blending sun-dried curry leaves with urad dal, chana dal, red chillies and asafoetida. Curry leaves are typically added to tempering in Tamil cooking, where their volatile aroma is partially lost in oil. In podi form, the flavour is more direct and persistent — green, herbal, slightly citrusy — and comes through clearly when mixed with sesame oil. This podi has a noticeably different aroma from the classic version and pairs best with plain sesame oil rather than ghee, which can overpower the leaf flavour. The 100g pack makes 15–20 servings. Mrs. Esakkiammal prepares it in small batches at Iyarkai Pantry. No preservatives, artificial flavours or colours. Store airtight and use within 2–3 months.
